Entering Into Rest: Trusting God Beyond the Goal

As we enter new seasons, many of us set goals, make resolutions, and pray for what we want God to do in our lives. But rarely do we pause to ask an important question: how do we rest while pursuing those goals?

Scripture reminds us in Ecclesiastes 9:11–12 that “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong.” This teaches us that success is not simply about speed or effort, but about grace and timing.

When we trust God with our goals, we also trust Him with the pace. Rest is not weakness it is alignment. It is believing that God is working even when we are not rushing.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites us:

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Rest is not something we earn after exhaustion. It is something God offers in the middle of the journey.

True rest comes when we stop striving and start trusting.
